Mrs J
I started my Reiki treatments with Brenda in July 2013. I had been told by the Doctor and Liver Clinic that I had a Liver Condition which there wasn't any treatment for. It was a tremendous shock as up until this point they had been very low key about my condition but they now said I also had Portal Hypertension and Splenomegaly. The level of stress I felt was horrendous and I was finding it difficult to get my head around what I had been told, and I knew that I needed to find a way of calming my thoughts down to be able to push forward with whatever I needed to do. I had been to Brenda for Reflexology in the past and the occasional Reiki Treatment and I hoped it could somehow help again with this huge condition and extreme stress.
From the very first treatment I felt a weight lifted from me, I felt calm and felt that I had the power within me to fight this. When my husband picked me up from the treatment he was amazed at how I looked like me again, smiling and with a Reiki glow.
Over the months I obviously had highs and lows, but every time I felt stressed Reiki would bring me back to a manageable level and helped me more than I can express. I exercised and read up about the best/worst foods to eat for your liver, and then in late August I had a biopsy and in late September they called me in to say I had early stage NASH, which although more serious than NAFLD, was nowhere near what they had told me earlier in the year and I didn't have Portal Hypertension either. They weren't even sure why I had been told that!
With Reiki, exercise and diet I have reduced my Liver results to within normal range and now I have to keep working at it to hopefully avoid any progression. I know it would have been virtually impossible for me to do what I needed to do if I hadn't had Reiki and Brenda to support me.

I was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in 2012 ,only given 18 months to 2 years to live when my wife booked me in for Reiki. I must admit I was very sceptical at first but much to my surprise I really enjoyed Reiki and found it helped me to relax. After the first session I was able to eat normally, which I had struggled to do beforehand. I had a session a week while I was having chemo and it really helped to ease the ill effects from that.
I have been completely cancer free for a year now. I'm sure Reiki helped me cope with the side effects of all the chemo, plus helped to cure me. Thank you Brenda.

Toto
Toto is a 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier. In October last year he had a severe and life threatening allergic reaction to something which made him seriously ill. He became very quiet and lethargic - just not his lively and happy self at all. A rash appeared all over his tummy which spread fast.
After phoning the vet, he told me to bring Toto in, but before we went I asked Brenda if she could pop round and give some Reiki quickly before the appointment. She came and did about 10 mins of treatment and he definitely perked up enough to be more alert and want to walk about a bit. He was admitted to Dick White Referrals (http://www.dickwhitereferrals.com/) and after 4 days of intense treatment there he started to improve. Brenda also managed to do some more Reiki at the clinic. The vets weren't expecting such a huge recovery and the pathology report said that no dog has ever survived such a reaction and they are amazed that Toto is still alive. I'm convinced and know that the Reiki Toto had prior to being admitted, gave him the extra strength he needed to get through and survive.
They still don't know what triggered the reaction and say that Toto is a miracle...I say Reiki is part of the miracle.
A month later, Toto was starting to get unwell again and had a bit of a relapse, this time it was pancreatitis. Brenda came round immediately to sit with him. He tried to come downstairs to see her, but stopped halfway down and just lay there, exhausted and quiet. Brenda picked him up and took him into the lounge and gave him Reiki for 5 mins. My husband walked in the front door and suddenly Toto was up, running to the hall and jumping up at him, tail wagging! If I hadn't seen the difference with my own eyes, I would never have believed it.
Again in February this year, Toto became unwell, again with Pancreatitis. Once again he was lethargic, unable to stand or walk, quiet with no interest in food or drink and was getting dehydrated, despite the water I was syringing into him every few minutes... He hadn't been to the toilet for over 20 hours. As I waited for my appointment at the vets, Brenda came round to my house and again did Reiki and was kind enough to come to the vets, as she was able to give Toto Reiki in the car on the way. When we arrived, he actually got down and wanted to walk in and had a little wee! You would never have known he was the same dog that had laid on my couch 15 minutes earlier. Yet again he has pulled through and is recovering well.
There have been 3 separate life threatening conditions and I saw with my own eyes the boost and lift Reiki gave my little Toto before he had medical treatment and also the strength to heal afterwards. I am forever thankful to Brenda for helping Toto (so grateful that she lives just around the corner from me!) and to the Reiki for giving him a fighting chance.

Becky
Diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a puppy, Becky has never been able to tolerate the level of exercise that is the characteristic demand of her breed. She soon adapted to her limitations though, preferring mind games over physical activity and assuming the role of pack leader over two younger and fitter 'brothers'.
Becky coped well with her disability until, at the age of 13 years, her back legs were suddenly unable to support her weight. Her medication was increased but the prognosis wasn't good. Indeed, the vet suggested that euthanasia would be the only humane course of action.
It was at this point that Becky was introduced to Reiki and I have absolutely no doubt that it saved her life. Even after the first session with Brenda there was a change in Becky's condition. I still had to support her body weight with towel forming a hammock under her tummy, but her back legs started to move. Becky soaked up that treatment and subsequent sessions and gradually became independent in her walking once more.
When I subsequently ordered repeat medication from the vet, the practice called me back to check it was for Becky. They simply couldn't believe she was still alive with the ailments that she had presented at her last visit!
Regular Reiki continues to help Becky both physically and mentally. She has occasional 'wobbly' days but soon recovers and is now heading for her 16th birthday. Not bad for an old girl who was considered beyond help at 13 years. Thank you Reiki and thank you Brenda.
Brenda says: When I first saw Becky, she tried to stand to come and see me, but just couldn't get up. I knew she had had maximum meds and the vets didn't know what else to do. Her eyes looked dull and sad but her tail was doing it's best to wag.
After her treatment she seemed happier, but it was only as I went to leave and turned to say goodbye to her that I noticed her eyes. They were shining so brightly and her whole face seemed 'alive' and glowing, it was such an inspiring thing to see.
When I went back to do the next treatment I was amazed to see Becky at the door to greet me - ok she was a little stiff and it was slow but she was up and walking - made my heart melt!
Reiki really can make the most incredible difference. Becky's owner was so impressed that she has since learned Reiki and now gives Becky daily treatments.

In May 2008 I had laser eye surgery, and during the consultation the ophthalmic surgeon explained that the key to a good outcome was the post-operative care so that the surface of the eye would heal quickly and without infection. I had already had Reiki sessions with Brenda, and was confident that they were beneficial. So with this in mind, I decided to book a session at home immediately after the surgery.
During the healing session, the depth of the sensation of warmth I felt at the front of my eyes was incredible. I say warmth, because although it was incredibly intense, it was distinct from being hot. I believe that this warmth was generated due to my body focussing on healing the damage to my eyes.
(Brenda says: "Although Matt felt it as great warmth, my hands felt as hot as a bar on a fire. I checked with Matt to make sure it wasn't too hot!)
The following day at the post-operative review, the surgeon was amazed by the condition of my eyes just 24 hours after the procedure. The eyesight test showed a level of vision beyond the expected level, and my eyes were not as dry as he would have expected. I carried on using the eyedrops as directed, although never really felt that my eyes were dry and had no soreness at all despite the warnings beforehand.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Reiki healing made a big contribution to the success of my eye surgery.
Thanks Brenda!

Bootsie - a little horse with a lot of courage and spirit!
I was first introduced to Bootsie at the end of May this year. He is suffering from a condition that means his leg bones are touching his hooves. This can cause great pain at times, but he is a real fighter and has such spirit. It was only after the Reiki treatment that I found out that the vet and Carol (Jaybeth owner) had been discussing the possibility of Bootsie being put down (as I worked!) as there was nothing more the vet could do medically. Happily the vet agreed to give him more time and Bootsie definitely seemed brighter after the Reiki. I saw him three times a wek for 6 weeks and now go twice a week.
He is the most amazing horse and has a real joy for life, even with pain. Carol rescued him after he'd been found tied to a tree stump where he'd been left for two years, and his hooves had grown and curled up into his legs! He was taken to the slaughterhouse and that's where Carol saved him. That was 16 years ago. He limps sometimes but that's only to be expected after all he's been through. He's always so much brighter and can walk better after a Reiki treatment. Bootsie is regularly treated by a blacksmith who commented after his last visit that Bootsie's hooves seemed to be thickening up! The only thing that could be doing that is the Reiki. Bootsie doesn't always want much and soon lets me know when he's had enough by walking off very determinedly! Carol has just rescued a donkey and Bootsie has let him know in no uncertain terms that he is the boss!
Despite the pain that he is in, Bootsie captures the heart of everyone who meets him with his determination, gentleness and sweet nature. I feel very priviledged to be treating such a special little horse.
Mrs R
I was constantly exhausted to the point I would wake up and my hands would be shaking nearly all day and I was light-headed and dizzy. I had suffered a head injury that had taken the best part of a year to recover from and I have two small children with no relatives to hand to help through my recovery. I was at a loss as what to do and knew I had to do something to regain my energy.
In my first session with Brenda I fully relaxed and as she started to work on my head I started to vibrate until my whole body was shaking, I felt quivering and flipping sensations in my stomach and felt waves of utter joy well up inside me. I did not tense or resist as I sensed this was benefiting and releasing me. Afterwards I felt astonishingly different, very dream like, light headed and my voice sounded different, more relaxed. The next morning I sprang out of bed and felt energised and this has continued. I had another session shortly after the first and the sensations were incredible.
My husband says it's as if a 'cloud has lifted' from me and I say it's like I have got 'away' from myself, when in fact I have actually got back to my real self and left behind an accumulation of stress. I see this as a solution to life's stresses and troubled periods and will have regular 'maintenance' treatments.
Thank you Brenda!
Spangles - a very lucky young donkey.
Spangles was left behind by travellers. He had lung worm and was badly depressed. I saw him the day Carol brought him in and he just stood in one spot, head hanging low, not interested in anything. I walked over and placed my hands on him. He lifted his head and gazed at me for a long time as he felt the Reiki. I saw a change in his eyes almost immediately and it was as if he knew he'd be OK.I have given him Reiki regularly since, and with a lot of love and care from Carol he is now a changed animal. Confident and happy AND doesn't flinch every time someone goes to pat his head!
Shirley M
Hi, My name is Shirley,
I was on many pain killers for osteoporosis and other ailments and also suffered from panic attacks and I was recommended that I have a session of Reiki. I must admit I was very skeptical at first and I asked myself how would this help me, but after the first visit to Brenda I was able to answer my own question! I really don't know how it works, but it does. I take hardly any pain medication now and my panic attacks are very few.
My reiki experience is one of calm and inner peace and I am able to take my every day worries with ease now. I would recommend it to any one that like me, is suffering in silence. I always say if in doubt check it out and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brenda for making me feel so welcome in her home.

Pip - a loving dog with a beautiful soul.
My name is Pip and I am 14 years old now but I have a problem with my heart. Thanks to my special friend Brenda, I am still managing to be here. I became very poorly a few months ago and the vets did everything they could for me but they were running out of options. Then Brenda came into my life and gave me a treatment called Reiki. This was a lovely experience for me. It was very peaceful and calming. I felt heat and love coming from Brenda's hands. I love my treatment and I always feel better afterwards. I even lay and put my head and body into Brenda's hands. I always sleep afterwards but the next day my owners always see an improvement in me. I have an interest in life again. I enjoy my walks and being with my friends. Before Brenda I thought it was my time to go home to spirit. I am not ready yet but when the time does come I know the Reiki healing will help me to let go. My owner Elizabeth says -
'When nothing else was left to try we were open to trying anything. Brenda coming into our lives was a real blessing. She has helped Pip to cope with his heart condition. We know that he will not be around forever but are very thankful to her for giving us extra time with our beloved friend. She has been like an angel and the gift of Reiki has given Pip back his love of life.

Ellie - A bouncy, happy chocolate lab.
I have a chocolate labrador called Ellie. 18 months ago, just after Christmas my husband and I decided to get Ellie spayed. We took Ellie to the vets where she had the operation but there were a few complications. When Ellie came home she was very poorly and seemed very depressed. I mentioned this to Brenda who suggested that Ellie should try a Reiki treatment.
Brenda came round to my house and sat beside Ellie. She then placed her hands on her body and Ellie just rolled back onto her bed and lay gazing up at the ceiling! As the treatment proceeded, Ellie fell into a deep sleep making the most unusual noises that I've never heard again to this day. She was sighing deeply and eventually snoring very loudly. If Brenda attempted to stop the treatment, Ellie would look straight at her and start wimpering and using her paws to push Brenda's hands back onto her body. Brenda performed Reiki for a good 50 mins and I'm sure Ellie would have taken more if time had allowed! When she woke up after a very long sleep in the afternoon, Ellie was a different dog and practically back to her normal, bouncy, lively self. Brenda came back the following week to see if Ellie needed more treatment. Ellie sat and had loads of cuddles but wouldn't sit still for any Reiki, so told us herself really, that she was fine. She had made a full recovery and without needing the rest of her painkillers.
I have never seen anything like it and from that experience of the benefits Ellie reaped from her treatment, I would recommend it to anyone.

Gus and Tig - two very boisterous Irish wolfhounds.
We have two Irish Wolfhounds aged seven and five, and they both have a mild stomach disorder, similar to IBS. During the diagnostic period we were lucky enough to hear of Brenda and her animal Reiki. Brenda performed a session on each and the effects of the Reiki were immediately obvious in their behaviour. During and after the session they were both very calm and slept for many hours afterwards, which is very unusual, and seemed comfortable in themselves. After this the dogs condition seemed to improve in much the same way that it had with a course of antibiotics, but without any drugs, and we feel that it has had a very beneficial effect on their well being, and we hope to continue with the Reiki for them.
Barry and Lynn G, Wisbech, Cambs.
Barney - a very old, wonderful, wobbly dog.
When I first saw Barney not only did he wobble when he walked, but his legs shook at the same time. He paced back and forth in and out of the room and to the kitchen constantly. After two or three Reiki treatments I noticed the 'shake' had gone from his legs. They were still wobbly and sometimes 'went' under him, but he was walking with more strength. I noticed that he wasn't pacing up and down to the same degree either. His owner has said he's always better the next day after a treatment but eventually returns to his normal state again. Barney is very old and nearly deaf and blind, but if the Reiki can give him (and his owners) a bit of respite, then the Reiki is doing what nothing else can. He is very happy, even with his ailments, and always knows when it's time for treats!!
Sabre - a huge softy, with a bit of tail missing!
Sabre had some of his tail amputated after trapping it in a door. When I went to give him Reiki he came and tried to curl up on my lap - he's nearly the size of a rottweiler!! He lay for 50 mins making lots of doggy noises and manoeuvring himself just where he wanted my hands to be. He eventually dozed off, even though he was in pain, but woke as I left - still wagging that tail!
